LEED Certification / Green Building
The Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, developed by the U. S. Green Building Council (USGBC), provides standards for the construction of environmentally sustainable projects.
The rating system addresses six areas:
- Sustainable sites
- Water efficiency
- Energy and atmosphere
- Materials and resources
- Indoor environmental quality
- Innovation and design process
NEI Electric has LEED Accredited Professionals who are able to design projects according to the LEED Standards.
LEED certified buildings are designed to use resources more efficiently and provide healthier work and living environments. There are four levels of LEED certification of projects:
- Certified
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum

This "Green Clinic" uses energy efficient cooling, lighting, and controls to save energy costs over the lifetime of the building. Value engineering services provided by NEI were used to keep the project under budget and maintain its LEED Silver Certification.
