Electrical Solutions Provided by NEI Electric
Design/Build
Design/Build is a Project Delivery System where the electrical contractor is both the designer and contractor of the electrical system. The design teams work closely from conception to completion of the project and the total duration of the project is reduced because design phase and construction phase overlap. Additionally, this process allows costing to be incorporated into design decisions, allowing a project to come in at or under budget and provides the customer a facility of quality.
Design/Assist
Design/Assist is a blend of Design/Build and Plan and Specification construction delivery methods; the contractor is included in the design team. We meet with the electrical engineers on design and constructability issues and offer value engineering suggestions and cost estimates in order to keep the project on budget and on time.
Value Engineering
Value Engineering throughout the design phase allows the owner to get more value for their investment. NEI will offer value engineering suggestions and work effectively with the architect, project engineer, product manufacturers and other team members to present those savings options to the owner.
Plan and Specification
Plan and Specification or Design-Bid-Build is the traditional method of project delivery; architects and engineers design the project, contractors with the lowest bid are awarded contracts and the building is built according to the plans and design. Changes are handled through a change order process that quite often adds time and dollars to the final cost to the customer.
Building Information Modeling (BIM)
Building Information Modeling (BIM) combines drafting, geometry and spatial relationships with calculated information such as light analysis, geographic information and other factors in a three-dimensional model. Using BIM allows for better coordination of design prior to construction reducing errors and rework. With increased accuracy and efficiency, the overall cost of the project is reduced and the schedule maintained. BIM also provides the owner with a design tool that can be used throughout the life-cycle of their building.
LEED
LEED credits on a project can be increased by using energy-efficient light fixtures, lamps and lighting controls. Customers realize the benefit in reducing energy consumption/usage costs as well as demand costs. NEI was actively involved with energy-efficiency and energy-reduction before the LEED movement came to be. We continue to offer our customers options for energy savings such as the installation of variable frequency drives (VFD's) and programmable controls.
Commissioning
Commissioning is the process of proving the equipment or systems we have installed perform and function as designed and specified on new or existing electrical systems. NEI will prepare detailed scripts for the electricians to follow during the Commissioning process; each step is documented and this report is included with the project close-out documents as required by the customer.
Thermographic Imaging
Thermographic Imaging is also known as infrared scanning. Every day the electrical system is called upon to provide power to your facility; the system heats up and cools down, expanding and contracting. This continual change can loosen connections and cause potential trouble spots. NEI technicians use a Thermal Imager to scan electrical equipment during normal operations, documenting and recording hot spots which could lead to electrical equipment failure and unscheduled shutdowns for the customer. Pro-active scheduling of infrared scanning and preventive maintenance can eliminate expensive emergency repairs and facility shutdowns due to electrical failure.
Generator and UPS Systems
Generator and UPS Systems are critical for many types of facilities from commercial, industrial, healthcare, and data centers and educational. NEI Electric has the experience required to design and install the right emergency backup generator or UPS system that meets the needs of the customer.
Equipment Installation
Equipment Installation wiring for all types of facilities and industries is available through NEI Electric. We work closely with the customer to assess their current electrical system and make any revisions needed for the new equipment. We have designed and installed the wiring for high-tech equipment in facilities for healthcare, industrial, food processing, commercial, office buildings and data centers.
Troubleshooting, repairs and electrical maintenance
Troubleshooting, repairs and electrical maintenance for all types of facilities are handled by our experienced Foremen and Service Technicians.
